He started a private practice in 1996 as a counselling psychologist and became involved in rendering a human resource service to employers.
In 1998 his life and career took an important turn when he started doing A Course in Miracles. He especially felt devoted to promoting the Course in his home language Afrikaans. He started the translation of the Course in 1998 and finished it in 2005. He has since 1998 spent most of his time on the Course and related activities; teaching the Course to groups and rendering spiritual therapeutic assistance to individuals. After twenty two years of experience as a psychologist trying to foster human development and personality growth, he finally realised that spiritual therapy is the only form of healing there is:

“Teach only love, for that is what you are.” (A Course in Miracles)

Who is Rob Barnes?

I am an industrial psychologist with a deep interest in spiritual transformation and since a young age I have been guided towards various mystical and spiritual paths which have included Hindu philosophy, white magic, Christian mysticism and over the last fifteen years, The Course in Miracles. As I suppose is quite common, the course found me instead of the other way round and it was right on the back of me hitting a rough patch in my life and asking the universe please to show me what it wanted from me. Again, not surprisingly, I was ready to understand its ways and found that what I had done up until then fitted in perfectly. To me, the course is the most joyful message I have ever met and, although I sometimes take it way too seriously, I find it has brought a lightness and carefree feeling into my life. What do you have to worry about if God is loving and you have nothing to fear? I have incorporated ego mapping into the course training I do and find it helps people to get to the “laughter point” in their lives by helping them let go of their special judgements of both themselves and others. After all, to heal is to make happy. I am eternally grateful for the course hunting me down and finding me as it has changed my life.

Who is Carley Lowe?

We are a centre for Yoga studies primarily but we have a group of about eight that meet on a wed. 10:35 till 12pm. We read and discuss relevant issues pertaining to ACIM. I personally have been studying the book for about eight years now and love it so dearly that I wanted to share it with others. The group started about a year ago with 25 people but it seems some felt threatened by its contents and many dropped out. The small group that is left are dedicated students and we have formed a close bond of sharing with each other. We never cease to be amazed at the direct answers given to us by the Holy Spirit. Our gratitude and love for the teachings are strengthened daily.
